Price

The price of your petit figurine will depend on its size and customization choices. Most miniatures fall in the $50-150 price range.

Custom Face

PetitMe figurines are made with custom faces based on the headshots you submit. We use your headshots to create a 3D model of your head and merge it with the 3D model of the character you chose for your petit.

Headshots

We will need a front picture of your face (or the face of whoever you want to miniaturize) in order to generate a 3D model of it. You will be asked to upload your headshot at the end of the customization process for the character you chose. At that point, we will provide specific guidelines regarding the headshots – but they are quite simple and straightforward:

Good Photos
  • Digital camera
  • Plenty of light on your face
  • No shadows
  • Mouth closed, no teeth showing
  • No glasses
Bad Photos
  • Poor lighting or shadows
  • Low resolution from cropping
  • Glasses
  • Mouth open or teeth showing
  • Head tilted
  • Black and white
  • Distorted face

Essentially, your headshot has to be straight and taken with enough light. We strongly recommend you also submit a profile (side) picture. No glasses, please. You can smile lightly if you want, but with your mouth closed, not showing your teeth. We use your headshots to extract your skin color, so black and white pictures won't do.

You can use your smartphone to take your headshots. Just make sure there is plenty of light.

Materials

Unless otherwise noted, PetitMe miniatures are made of gypsum using a 3D printing process we call Gypsum Powder Binding. Gypsum figurines have the look and feel of a ceramic object without the glazing. Some figurines can be optionally made out of high-definition plastic or bronze.

Gypsum is a great material for full-color figurines with a realistic look. Just keep in mind that it is a brittle material (like ceramics) that will break on impact. Depending on the shape of your petit, it may break even if tipped over a hard surface. Please be very cautious when handling your petit to avoid breaking it.

3D Printing Process

PetitMe figurines are made by 3D printing, which is an additive manufacturing process by which objects are made one layer at a time using a machine that resembles an industrial printer (but which is actually a lot more complex). A computer controls the 3D printer movements and the printing process based on the information contained in the custom 3D design file we create for your PetitMe figurine.

Color Figurines

PetitMe figurines made of gypsum are 3D-printed in full color. They are not hand-painted – color is applied as part of the printing process according to the color settings of the custom 3D computer model we create for your petit figurine.

Plastic and metal miniatures are printed in a single color.

Skin Tones

By default, we try to match the skin tone of the headshots you submit. Alternatively, you can override the skin color from your headshots by choosing a pre-defined skin tone during the customization process.

Hair Color

By default, we make your petit with the primary hair color we pick from your headshots. Alternatively, you can choose to override that color by selecting from a pre-defined set natural and dyed hair colors during the customization process. This option is particularly useful if you want to see a petit version of you or a friend with dyed hair.

Eye Color

By default, we will use your frontal headshot to print the eye of your petit. Alternatively, you can choose from a pre-defined set of eye colors during the customization process. This option is particularly useful if your headshot has red eyes or if you want to see a petit version of you with a different eye color.

Warranties, Returns and Refunds

This is a very important point and we urge you to read our warranty policy.

In short, PetitMe employs 3D modeling software to create figurines whose head resembles that of the person or pet whose headshots are uploaded to our website by Users as part of the figurine customization process. We believe the results to be quite satisfactory in terms of resemblance -- and sometimes quite remarkable. However, we cannot guaranty or warrant any particular level of likeness, which is a subjective matter. Given the highly customized nature of our figurines, we are not able to accept any returns or offer any refunds for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to perceived lack of likeness or resemblance to the headshots submitted or the actual person/pet.

Durability

Most PetitMe figurines are made of gypsum powder using a 3D-printing process we call Gypsum Powder Binding. Gypsum figurines have the look and feel of a ceramic object without the glazing. While Gypsum is a great material for full-color figurines with a realistic look, one must keep in mind that it is a very brittle material (like ceramics) that will easily break on impact. Depending on the shape of your petit, it may break even if tipped over a hard surface.

Please be very cautious when handling your petit to avoid breaking it. PetitMe makes no warranties regarding the durability of any 3D-printed figurine, and shall not be responsible to replace or repair broken or damaged figurines.

Cleaning

Clean your petit figurine with a dry lint-free cloth. Do not let it get wet. Water will damage the structure and the finish of your petit.

Shipping Time and Cost

Your petit figurine will usually ship within 2 weeks. Shipping cost depends on your location and on the weight of your order.

International Delivery

Yes, we ship petit figurines worldwide, but please keep in mind that customs clearance and duties, whenever required, are your responsibility.
